Thomas O. Simpson's Obituary
Thomas “Tom” Simpson, age 92 of Jenks, OK passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025 in Tulsa, OK. He was born September 19, 1933, in Mountain Home Arkansas to parents Alleta Mae (Scott) Simpson and George Henry Simpson.
Tom, or Tommy to some, was known for his orneriness – always ready with a joke, grin, or playful tease. Even to the end he would answer the question “how do you feel?” by stating “with my fingers” or telling you he felt “pretty good for an old fella.”
A natural handyman, he was always ready to lend a helping hand and his grandkids believed he could fix anything; which at one time included a shattered vase. This served him well in his 27-year career as Service Manager at Cain’s Coffee Company.
Tom loved all children, never missing an opportunity to make them laugh. He found joy in his grand- and great grandchildren, being able to play, laugh and love them. He let their smiles and energy fill his days with happiness.
Tom is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marlene. Tom enjoyed a long full life, which if you ask any of the family, is easily contributed to Marlene’s diligent care. This care, especially in their later years, allowed him to remain in his home until just a few months ago.
He leaves behind his three children, Debbie Sarnoskie (Terry), Sharon Lancaster, and Darrell Simpson (fiancée Melissa Rothrock).
Tom was grandfather of six: Rachel Pewitt (Michael), Deanne Trowbridge, Mark Lancaster, Jayne Luckett (Justin), Jacob Simpson (Audrianna), and Elizabeth Crowder (Ian).
He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Ava Pewitt, Braden Pewitt, Clara Pewitt, Dalton Pewitt, and Collins Luckett.
He is also survived by two sisters, Ruby McCormack (Norman) and Frances Hodges; cousins, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eula Crawford and her husband Marvin; his sister Nona Simpson, an infant brother and sister; and his brother-in-law Marvin Hodges.
A longtime member of Crosstown Church of Christ, Tom will be lovingly remembered for his readiness to assist others, commitment to his family, and his mischievous streak which led to lasting memories for his family and friends. His legacy of love and laughter will endure.
A visitation to come and pay your respects to Thomas will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 3PM-7PM, with family present from 4PM-PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A celebration of Thomas's life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 2PM at The Park Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A graveside ceremony and interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
