Dr. Jack Thurman Gamble's Obituary
Dr. Jack Thurman Gamble was born March 9, 1923 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed away July 3, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jack was the first of two children born to Cleaborne Thurman and Lola Enid (Gray) Gamble. After graduating from Will Rogers High School, Jack joined the US Army from 1943 -1946. Jack later attended the University of Pennsylvania, University of Tulsa, Northeastern University and University of Kansas City Dental School where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After graduating from college Jack began his career as a dentist in Tulsa. After 33 years Dr. Jack Thurman Gamble retired in 1983. During his life Jack lived in Tulsa, OK; Springdale, AR and Fort Smith, AR. Jack was married to Kathryn Ann Gamble on May 29, 1947. The couple was happily married for 67 years and together raised six sons. Jack was a long time member of Yale Avenue Christian Church. Jack was an avid bird hunter, trout fisherman, gardener and master woodworker. Jack’s family and friends will remember him for being honest, gifted, dedicated, loving and family oriented. Dr. Jack Thurman Gamble is survived by his spouse Kathryn “Kay” Ann Gamble; sons, Tom and his wife LuAnne Gamble, Cleab and his wife Nancy Gamble, Cory and his wife Jackie Gamble, Jeff and his wife Suzanne Gamble, Greg and his wife Andrea Gamble and Shaun and his wife Kelly Gamble; six grandchildren, Caitlin Gamble, Carly Gamble, Aubrey Gamble, Jessica Gamble, Morgan Gamble and Jack Gamble.
