Timothy Dale King's Obituary
Timothy Dale King, 46, of Owasso, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 16, 2015, from a brain aneurysm. Tim was born June 23, 1968, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, to Roger and Pat King. He graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1986. Tim was an avid baseball player from a very young age, playing for his Dad for many years and for the Broken Arrow Tigers Varsity team in Intermediate and High School. Tim worked for Machinery, Inc., his Dad’s company, for several years. He most loved working with people, trying to help them improve their lives. As a child, Tim saved any and all animals that came to his family’s door, feeding and loving them back to health, hoping to find good homes for them. In order to further his passion to make a difference in the lives of others, Tim made a career switch to nursing and graduated from Tulsa Community College Nursing Program in 2011. Tim had many interests in the medical field; he loved working in surgery and with the doctors at Tulsa Bone and Joint. He also worked as a CNA for several years. He enjoyed working with the elderly at nursing homes and his patients became family to him. Last November, Tim began working for OU Physicians Wayman Tisdale Specialty Health Clinic, providing care to babies and children. Tim’s coworkers and patients could all see his passion for caring for people and often stayed in touch years after their professional relationships ended. In 2011, Tim met the love of his life, Daphne, and they married on May 31, 2012. In marrying Daphne, Tim gained two stepsons whom he loved as his own. Tim and Daphne loved each other endlessly and spent all of their free time together, exploring the state, riding their motorcycles, traveling to the beach, spending time with family and memorializing their life together with photos. Tim loved having his family all in one place for holidays and celebrations so he could cook for everyone. He spent time with his grandbabies as often as possible and received so much joy from hearing them coo, laugh, and learn new things.Tim is survived by his wife, Daphne King; mother, Pat King; daughter, Bridgit King; stepsons, Bryce and Brandon Sills; granddaughter, Hope Sills; grandson, Jaiden Yenney; sister, Tricia and her husband Mike Curl; nieces, Caroline and Olivia Curl; and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Roger King. Tim’s willingness to be an organ donor has made possible a new lease on life for the many fortunate recipients. Those who love Tim are grieving a great loss today, but their hearts are filled with gratitude for Tim’s choice to give the gift of life to others.A celebration of Tim’s life will be held Friday, January 23, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. at Floral Haven, in Broken Arrow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to LifeShare Oklahoma (www.lifeshareoklahoma.org), House of Hope (918-786-2930), or Alcoholics Anonymous (918-627-2224).
