Timothy Dan Malone (Tim), 85, of Collinsville, died January 16, 2024 at home.
Tim was born on May 17th, 1938 in Tulsa, OK to Ione Mabel and Daniel Hudson Malone. He graduated from Central High School in Tulsa in 1957. That is where he met the absolute love of his life Donna Jean McClintick. They were married April 18, 1957. Tim enlisted in the US Army in June of 1957. After leaving the Army, he went to work with his dad at Malone Metal Fabricators until it closed in 1986. After that he worked at several different manufacturing companies until his retirement. His new job was to hunt down Beanie Babies for Donna. She absolutely loved them and he made “connections” with different stores that carried them. He knew when they received their shipments and they would hold them for him. In 2000, he came out of retirement so he could “Babysit” his granddaughter Kylie while grandma was at work. They would go have breakfast and then go to the park and play. Then the second granddaughter came along in 2003 and grandma retired too so he was a full time babysitter, short order cook and chauffer.
Later on in 2010 he wanted out of the house more so he went to work for AutoZone as a Delivery Driver. This was right up his alley. He loved to go places and never met a stranger. After recovering from Prostate Cancer and a broken hip, he and Donna moved in with his son Jeff and daughter-in-law, Michealle, and their 2 granddaughters.
Tim was a classic car buff and photographer. He was the photographer for the Tulsa Speedway. He would always get out in the middle of the action to get the good shots. He even had a dark room in his house so if he wasn’t taking pictures, he was developing them.
He was a member of the Dirt Track Legends group that met the 3rd Wednesday of each month for a luncheon. They would all get together to tell stories and show pictures and just enjoyed being together again.
Whenever Tim was getting ready to leave no matter where it was, without fail, he would always say, “Glad you got to see me”, well yes Tim, we are very glad we got to see you……
Tim was preceded in death by both of his parents, Dan and Ione, a sister, Jerrydth Ann, his wife Donna and his oldest son Bryan. He is survived by his youngest son Jeff and his wife Michealle and their daughters Kylie and Mackenzie of Collinsville, and a daughter-in-law, Stacy Malone, of Wayne, OK and many generations of cousins and numerous friends.
Services will be Monday, January 22nd at 12:30 at Floral Haven, with Ron Chambers officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 21st from 11 – 5. The family will be there to meet with visitors from 11-2
