Tom Jones' Obituary
Tom Jones, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and pillar of his community, passed away on March 16, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on October 16, 1936, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Charles Alexander Jones and Lennie Marie (Fry) Jones.
Tom married the love of his life, Ruby Robinson, on May 11, 1956, in Poteau, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a deep and enduring love that was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country with pride, he took patriotism and freedom to heart.
Tom had a passion for working in the yard and on cars. He found joy in traveling and exploring new places with his loved ones. His family meant the world to him, and he was cherished as a loving and supportive father and husband. Tom's sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him, and his kindness and generosity touched the hearts of many.
A dedicated member of his church, Tom served as a Deacon and found great fulfillment in his faith and community. He was known for his gentle spirit, his warm smile, and his welcoming nature.
One of Tom’s hobbies was writing short stories and funny tales. He found solace in creative writing and was able to entertain those around him. He would often study the Bible and would constantly grow in his faith.
Tom took great pride in watching his grandchildren play ball, finding joy in their accomplishments and sharing in their excitement. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Ruby Jones, daughter Vicki and husband Paul Preas, daughter Pam and husband David Robertson, grandchildren Tommy Preas, Courtney Maley and husband John, Erica Shull and husband Matt, Amber Parrish, Chad Parrish and wife Tiffany, nine great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, along with nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and loved ones.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Olivet Baptist Church (155 N 65th W Ave, Tulsa, OK 74127) with Scott Palmer officiating. Interment will take place at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM
