Tommie Sparks' Obituary
Tommie Fern Cotten Sparks age 72, went to meet her savior on June 29, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tommie worked for Warren Petroleum, Home Petroleum, National Bank of Tulsa as well as started a business, “Stylish Embroidery” with her loving husband, Ronnie. Tommie had a passion for fishing, needlework, and sewing. But most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Tommie was also a Master Gardener. She took great pride in her yard and spent many hours relishing in her efforts. Tommie Fern Cotten Sparks was born to Tom and Mildred Cotten on July 10, 1938 in Cisco, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Sparks of 52 years of marriage and daughters, Karri Sparks Hoss of Oklahoma City, Rhonda Sparks Mayfield of Claremore, Laura Kay Sparks of Tulsa, and daughter-in-law, Toni Sparks of Tulsa; grandchildren: H. Blake Hoss, Hansen Hoss, Harrison Hoss, Grace Hoss, Kaylinn Mayfield, Kenneth Mayfield, Ryan Sparks, Courtney Sparks; surviving sister: Lena Mae Cotten Reeder of Texas. The family is saddened by her peaceful passing, yet joyous she will be with her savior as well as with loved ones whom have preceded her in death. Tommie has joined her parents, Tom and Mildred Cotten; brother, Bill Cotten; sister, Jonnie Lou Cotten Tatum; son, Kevin Sparks; and granddaughter, Kelsey Mayfield. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011, 3:00 pm, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with interment following in the Garden of Prayer, Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday evening at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
