Tommie Sullivan's Obituary
Tommie was born at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Fred and Adele Sullivan on September 4, 1948. He lived most of his life in Tulsa, and graduated from Memorial High School in
1966. He then served in the U.S. Army from January 1967 through January 1969. He later earned a degree in education from the University of Tulsa.
On June 5, 1971 he married Melody Fultz, his wife of 53 years. There was not ever a dull moment.
Tommie never met a stranger. He loved to tell jokes his whole life to everyone he saw, whether at a doctor appointment, or anywhere that anyone would listen. He loved God, Jesus, dogs, his woodworking business, dogs, sports, playing games of all kinds, dogs, movies, music, and dogs.
Tommie was the sole proprietor of Sullivan's Wood Gifts. He went to craft shows in several states for several years, until the internet came along and he began selling his work on his Sullivan's Wood Gifts website. He made wooden name trains, children's name benches, and many beautiful wood name plates, in addition to custom wood gifts that people asked him to create.
Tommie was a devout and faithful Christian. He was active in church for many years, most recently at Catoosa Hills Christian Church. He had a true heart for teaching Sunday School to special-needs adults and making them feel loved and appreciated.
Tommie was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Wilkerson, and his brother Gib. He is survived by his wife Melody, his dog Hero, his nephew Fred Sullivan, and his nieces Rhonda Ratzliff and Monica Wilkerson-Bridgeman, and their children and grandchildren.
