Growing up as cousins I have many fond memories of Tommy. But one of my favorite would be when my parents took our grandparents from Tulsa to visit Imogene,George and Sandy, Tommy and Susie in 1962 in Chincoteague Island, VA. From seeing the tiny ponies, the whale bone yard, and just hanging out at their house. And being bombarded by seagulls when we tried to eat fried chicken on uncle George's boat! Tommy and I met in 1967 when we joined the Marine Corps at the age of Seventeen. We served in Vietnam during the same time frame (1968-69) and lost track of each until several years ago. We both attended a Toys for Tots meeting but did not recognize each other at the time. Not long after the meeting, I received a phone call from Tommy asking if I was the same John Ketcher from 1967. I said yes and we caught up on old times. My prayers for Lynn and for Tommy's family. Now instead of being part of the honor guard for Marine funerals, I can see him greeting Marines at the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Semper Fi, my old friend.
