Hodges, Tommy C's Obituary
Tommy C. Hodges, a lifelong servant of Christ, went to his heavenly home on Friday, September 26, 2025 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was born to Lee Odis and Lila Horine Hodges on August 13, 1936 in Wynona, Oklahoma.
At the age of 15, Tommy met the love of his life, Mavis Jenkins, at the bowling alley in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. The two were united in marriage a few years later after he graduated from Sand Springs High School, on November 5, 1954.
Together they built a life raising their children in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Tommy was an Electrician by trade where he worked under IBEW Local 584 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, bowling, and serving as a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon at Olivet Baptist Church. He truly was a pastor’s friend, who was a straight shooter. You never had to wonder what Tom was thinking, he would tell you! He would hold you accountable and love you at the same time. When he was no longer connecting wires and shooting shot guns, he became a student of golf and could often be found on Goat Hill.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Lee Odis and Lila; brother, Marion Hodges; son, Tommy Wayne Hodges; and grandson, Gabriel Wayne Hodges.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Mavis Hodges of the home; daughter Vicki Wilson and husband Wayne; daughter, Patti Hodges and husband Charlie Taylor; sister, Emma Rae Deppie; grandchildren, Jessica Hunt and husband Chris, Mark Wilson and wife Missy; Brian Wilson and wife Jessi; great-grandchildren, Braden Hodges, Gabby Hodges, Jessie Hodges, Sullivan Hunt, Sawyer Hunt, Brody Wilson, Wesley Wilson, Witten Wilson, Wells Wilson, and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and church families.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10 a.m., October 1, 2025, at Olivet Baptist Church, 155 North 65th West Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Officiating the service will be Pastor Scott Palmer. Tommy’s resting place will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens at the Garden of the Last Supper.
