Tommy A. Worth's Obituary
Tommy A. Worth was born on January 29th 1930 in Collinsville and died on October 14th 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in Tulsa and attended Central high school. At Central, He was on the wrestling team, and was the State Champion at 145 lbs. in 1947, 1948 and 1949, the year of his graduation. He continued at Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. In the Armed Forces, He completed his service as a First Lieutenant.His career took him to the very beginning of the computer industry where he remained for the rest of his professional life, retiring as a Systems Analyst for Sperry Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Tom Worth and his brother, Tony Worth.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Christiane Worth, the five children he helped raise and their spouses. Tommy Alan Worth, Teresa and Carlo Medici of Reno Nevada, Janie and Harvey Sweet of Catoosa Oklahoma, Marilyn and David Baker of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Bill and Marianne of Maryland.He is also survived by his sister Jean Ann Worth-Powell of Kansas City and a brother, Ben Myles Worth of Kansas City, Missouri, 17 grand children and spouses, as well as 11 great grandchildren for whom he was Grandpa and Papa Tom.Visitation will be held at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow on Wednesday, 16 October 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Service will be held at the Last Supper Chapel on the Floral Haven Cemetery grounds, Thursday, 17 October at 3:00 pm. Family request tribute gift on behalf of Mr. Worth to the Alzheimer’s Association act.alz.org in lieu of flowers.
