Tommy Eugene Young's Obituary
Tommy Eugene Young died on March 19, 2023. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Tommy had a youthful, kind and compassionate spirit. He was a source of strength, grace, and stability for many. His smile brought comfort to others. He was devoted to a life of service. He served a tour in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked his entire adulthood as an accountant to provide a modest life for his family. In the 80s, Tommy began his service to God and the church community as a deacon at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He took great joy in recent years serving communion to the Church’s homebound members.
Tommy was the eldest of seven children. He is survived by his brother, Gary Young; daughter, Jeanne Gaddy, step-daughter, Kathleen King and step-son, Brian Brinkman; grandchildren Scott Tarwater, Carla Beaver, Shela Crump, Charlie Gaddy, Jeremy Hill, Tara Hill and Gary Davis; step-grandchildren Jennifer Noble, Samantha King, Melanie Deer, Shylah Mead, Josh Brinkman, Michael Brinkman and Britany Brinkman; great-grandchildren Shaun Edwards, Cassie Edwards, Shelby Niño, Caleb Beaver, Hannah Tarwater, Kiran Crump and William Deer II; great-great-grandchildren Zayden Tucker, Chassie Valentine and Adrian Niño. He was predeceased by his parents, Theodore (Ted) Young and Vinnie Rhodes and five siblings; first wife Verda Young, son Tommy Young, daughter Janet Davis and second wife, Colleen Young.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday March 29 at 10:00am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tulsa, OK.
