Tony Lee Bruce's Obituary
“Tony Lee Bruce, age 75, married to Linda Joy Bruce, passed from this life on Sunday July 7, 2019. Born on January 29, 1944 in Bristow, Oklahoma, Tony was the son of Claude and Margaret Bruce. Tony attended Bristow High School, where he excelled at football and was selected to participate on the all-state team. He went on to earn a Bachelor degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University. Tony worked as a professional banker and loan officer for 42 years at Citizens Security Bank & Trust Company in Bixby. He was very active in the Bixby community and volunteered to serve in many leadership roles, to include participating on the Bixby Chamber of Commerce, the Board of the Daily Family YMCA and more. Tony was an original founding member of the Daily Family YMCA in Bixby, he helped to raise more than $1.2M towards its construction. He was likely the world’s most avid sports fan, and would always watch just about any competitive sport that was available; golf, football, baseball etc. He also enjoyed playing sports and would spend hours on the softball field, basketball court, running etc. In recent years Tony enjoyed traveling the world with his true love Linda. During their marriage they went on trips to Hawaii, the United Kingdom and Alaska just to name a few. Tony truly cherished being with his family, whether it was fishing with his brothers in Arkansas, participating in large family gatherings during the holidays, or regularly meeting with his children to stay up to date on all the family happenings.Tony is preceded in passing by his parents, Claude and Margaret Bruce; siblings, Dolly, Harry Bruce, Darlene Bruce and Clayton Bruce. He is survived by his spouse, Linda Joy Bruce; son, Kenton Bruce and his spouse, Dorinda; son, Trey Bruce and his spouse, Angie; daughter, Renee Bruce and her spouse, Kay Nealis; daughter, Danica Kincaid and her spouse, James Jr.; step-children, Kelly Marslan-McBride and her spouse, Thomas and Scott Hargis and his spouse, April; grandchildren, Sydney Bruce and her spouse, Frank, Steve Adams and his spouse, Jenna, Kyra Bruce, Ashley Bruce, Joshua Bruce, Shandi Salamanca and her spouse, Griselda, Loree Sagely and her spouse, Jason, Ava Kincaid, Kathryn Kincaid, Lena Kincaid, Liya Kincaid; step-granchildren, Lacey Hargis, Brett Marsaln, Beau Marsaln, Rainne McBride and Ashlyn McBride; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Shane, Addalyn, Braxton, Camdyn, Brianna and Acelee; brother, Jim Bruce and his spouse, Carolyn; brother, Steve Bruce and his spouse, Nita and numerous other family members and friends.”Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
