Travis DeWayne Standridge's Obituary
Travis Standridge passed away Sunday, January 8th, 2023 in Tulsa from complications after a heart attack. He was born in Collinsville, Oklahoma on September 9th, 1962. He grew up there playing baseball and riding bikes all over town with his friends and dedicated his life to Christ at Collinsville First Baptist Church. He graduated from Arkansas’ Benton High School in 1980 where he played football and sang in a barber shop quartet with friends he loved dearly. Travis went on to get an undergraduate degree at Oklahoma State University in 1984 and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan Chiropractic College in 1989. Travis immediately started his career as a chiropractor in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shortly after, he met and married the ultimate love of his life, Cynthia in February 1992 (also a Tulsa chiropractor and also so in love with him). Travis and Cynthia gave birth to two daughters, Reagan (27) and Cambry (24).
Travis is survived by his wife, Cynthia, his eldest daughter and her husband, Reagan and Dan Allison, and his youngest daughter and her husband, Cambry and Kyle Price. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Tracy and Kay Standridge, and their three children and their families, Grant, Kendall and Sydney, and his sister-in-law and her husband, Krista and Chris Brewer and family and his brother-in-law Scott Langford and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Renona Standridge, his parents-in-law Royal and Lois Langford, and his great niece, Lucy Zimmerman.
Travis practiced for 33 years where he ministered to people with his hands and his words. The compassion for Chiropractic health care and the love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was always very evident in how he treated people and how he lived his life. His deep faith, encouraging words and his humor were hallmarks of his life over the years. He loved his work, his staff and all his patients and loved his family even more. He embraced his role as a “girl dad” with all the big bows, dresses, and the making of ‘an outfit’ that came with it – he loved it. Travis and Cynthia raised their girls at Church on the Move (COTM) and Lincoln Christian School where they were involved in sports and performing arts. He and Cynthia never missed their girls’ activities. Travis volunteered his time on Lincoln’s football sideline for over 20 years as a team doctor. Being around the coaching staff, players, trainers, pastors and cheerleaders was one of his favorite things in this life – he always said, “It keeps me young”. Travis and Cynthia’s daughters were married within 11 months of each other very recently – Dan and Kyle’s addition to the family brought fulfillment to Travis and Cynthia’s prayers for their daughters. Travis attended COTM starting in 1991 and then with his family for the years to come. He spent time volunteering at the Christmas Train outreach and at weekend services as an usher, giving of his time, resources, and prayers to grow the local church and share the Gospel.
We invite you to attend the service for a celebration of Travis’s life at Church on the Move’s Oneighty Building at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to the Lincoln Christian School endowment.
