I WORKED WITH MRS. SMITH FOR SEVERAL YRS IN EOPC. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL LADY, VERY KIND TO EVERYONE, ALWAYS A QUIET SMILE ON HER FACE, AND OF COURSE A GOOD COOK. ONE YR., JUANITA & I WROTE AN EOPC COOKBOOK, AND MANY RECEIPES FROM MRS. SMITH WERE INCLUDED. WHEN MASON WAS BORN, MY OWN GRANDCHILD HAD BEEN BORN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, AND HAD ALSO BEEN IN EOPC. ANOTHER TIME, SEV. YRS. LATER, WHEN MRS. SMITH RETIRED, SHANNON ASKED ME TO PLAN HER RETIREMENT PARTY, WHICH I WAS THRILLED TO DO, AS EVERYONE LOVED MRS. SMITH, OF COURSE SHE KEPT WORKING AND WE WERE HAPPY. YRS. LATER, WHEN I WAS DOING HOME HEALTH, I VISITED MASON'S MOM WHEN SHE HAD A NEW BABY. IF I HAD KNOW ABOUT THE FUNERAL, I WOULD HAVE ATTENDED, BUT DID NOT FIND OUT ABOUT HER PASSING UNTIL AFTER THE FACT. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON…AND I KNOW SHE WILL LIVE ON IN ALL OF YOUR HEARTS. I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT MRS. SMITH'S PASSING. I DID NOT FIND OUT ABOUT HER FUNERAL UNTIL AFTER THE FACT, OR I WOULD HAVE ATTENDED. MRS. SMITH WAS A WONDERFUL LADY. I WORKED WITH HER FOR SEVERAL YRS IN EOPC. WHEN MASON WAS BORN, AND WAS IN OUR UNIT, IT WAS JUST ABOUT A MONTH AFTER MY OWN GRANDSON HAD BEEN BORN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, AND ALSO IN OUR UNIT. WHEN MRS. SMITH RETIRED FROM EOPC, EVEN THOU SHE WOULD STILL WORK ALOT, I PLANNED HER RETIREMENT PARTY BECAUSE SHANNON FELT IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT WE HONOR ALL OF HER HARD WORK. SHE WAS A VERY HARD WORKER, AND ALSO A WONDERFUL COOK…WE HAVE SEVERAL OF HER RECEIPES IN THE EOPC COOKBOOK THAT JUANITA AND I WROTE ONE YR. SEVERAL YRS. LATER, WHEN I WAS DOING HOME HEALTH, I HAD A MOTHER/BABY VISIT WITH MASON'S MOM, WHEN SHE HAD ANOTHER CHILD. I KNOW ALL OF YOU WILL MISS HER, BUT I ALSO KNOW SHE LIVED A LONG, GOOD LIFE, AND WILL BE SEEING DARWIN, AND HER CHILDREN IN HEAVEN. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. SINCERELY, MARILYN ZICKEFOOSE

I was fortunate to work with Trellis in the EOPC at SFH for several years. She was a delightful person and always enjoyed her work. I will always remember how gentle she was with the babies and pleasant to the staff and families. I was browsing our old cookbook this week and I think half of the recipes were from her!!! We loved her food and her desserts were number one!!! I have a very sweet picture of her holding my daughter right after she was born and woiuld like to share that picture with your family if you like. Dear family members, I worked with Trellis for several years in the EOPC at Saint Francis Hospital and have very fond memories of her. I remember her as being the nicest person, a good cook and a very devoted worker. She loved those babies and her work seemed a joy to her. I have a very nice picture I would like to send to one of you with Trellis holding my own daughter to the window of the nursery for viewing. She was probably about 60 in that picture and will E-mail it or send it to you if you like. I thought she had a very nice service and so glad I got to attend. My sympathy to your family. I was fortunate enough to have worked with Mrs. Smith in EOPC at St. Francis. She was such a quiet person, but so pleasant. She gave me a few recipes as a newlywed in 1980, which ive neveer forgotten. She loved the babies and was so kind and gentle with them. I never heard her say an unkind word to anyone or about anyone. And I never heard anyone say an unkind word about Mrs. Smith. May God bless all of her family. I know she is with God in Heaven.

I worked with Mrs. Smith in the NICU at Saint Francis. She was so sweet and kind to work with. She taught me how to burp a baby that just didn't want to burp! I enjoyed many of her wonderful desserts and loved her cornbread and still use the recipe. She was a delightful person to know and I have thought of her often over the years.
