Troy A. Burnett's Obituary
Troy Alvin Burnett was born on September 13, 1933, in Witter, Arkansas to Floyd and Ethel Burnett. Troy passed from this life on November 17, 2014. Troy attended school in Gravette, Arkansas. He served in The U.S. Army in Mannheim, Germany from December of 1953-55. He moved to Tulsa in 1956 Where he was employed by Moss Seat Covers, Sears, Vulcan Tank and Energy Exchanger Company, where he worked for 17 years before retiring in 1996.He married Nelda Majors on September 8, 1979. They moved to Grove, Oklahoma after his retirement where he enjoyed his favorite past time, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. They returned to Tulsa in 2001 and moved to Bixby in 2003.He was preceded in death by: his parents, three brothers, Calvin, Virgil and Jimmie.He is survived by: wife, Nelda Joy Burnett Son: Mike and wife, Kellie of Tulsa Daughter: Brenda Williams and husband, Brian of Marietta, Ga. Grandson: Reed Williams of Marietta, granddaughter: Shannon Williams of Marietta Sisters: Pauline Whitmore of Huntsville, Ark.; Mary Sawyer of Gravette, Ark. and Sue Peters and husband, Marvin of Gravette, Ark. Stepson: David Majors and wife, Robin of Valencia, Ca.: Steven Majors and wife Sheryl of Broken Arrow. Granddaughters: Holly Arnett and husband Eric of Owasso; Heidi Spencer and husband Charlie of Broken Arrow. Grandsons: Mick Majors and wife, Audra of Edmond, Oklahoma; Matt Majors of Broken Arrow; Brian Majors and wife, Courtney of Nevada, Mo. Six great grandsons, two great granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephewsTroy was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Seekers Community. He was baptized into Christ in 1979 at East Tulsa Christian Church in Tulsa. Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m., Friday, November 21st, 2014 at the Asbury United Methodist Church.
