Twila Urbanek's Obituary
Twila Urbanek age 81 passed away November 20th, 2018 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born in Wilson County, Kansas to her parents Daniel James Penny and Mary (Holcroft) Penny on March 21st, 1937. She married the love of her life Melvin Urbanek on June 23rd, 1956.Twila loved spending time with family and playing games, especially during the holidays. She enjoyed growing and potting flowers, watching Wheel of Fortune, and folding bulletins at church. Twila enjoyed going to garage sales and going on Caribbean cruises where she would enjoy her favorite rum punch. On the holidays, Twila would take the left over mashed potatoes and whip up her famous Potato Pancakes that everyone loved. One fun thing she would do with her grandchildren is, during the snowy winter she would throw birdseed on the back porch and watch from the kitchen window as the birds would come and eat up the bird seed… she called this her “Birdie Parties”.She is survived by her sister Lucille McCarty, her daughters Katherine Diane Carpenter and her husband Michael Lee Carpenter, Glenda Jo Siegmann and her husband David Michael Siegmann, her grandsons Dustin Carpenter and his wife Lisa Carpenter, Daniel Taylor, Brian Taylor and his wife Jessica Taylor, Lt. Jason Taylor and his wife Laura Taylor, and Shelby Siegmann; her granddaughter Holly Koenig and her husband Dakota Koenig, her great grandchildren Max Taylor, Kennedy Carpenter, Adalynn Taylor, and Everett Taylor. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin Joseph Urbanek, her daughter Sheila Ann Taylor, her granddaughter Lacy Carpenter, her sisters Arlene Bagby, Betty Pryor, Peggy Rule, Leona Roseberry and her brother James Penny.Visitation will be held from 2pm – 6pm on Sunday, November 25th at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
