Valerie Lauren Staats-Matthews' Obituary
Valerie Lauren Staats passed away surrounded by family on Dec.9th, 2021. She was born on June 12th, 1984, and was raised in Broken Arrow by her parents Kevin Staats, Ginger Givan, and Karen Staats. She was a devoted mother of 7, daughter, and sister.
She was her kids' number 1 fan when it came to sports or extracurricular activities. You could always count on her to be on the sideline or up in the stands cheering them on no matter what. She always said that she believed God’s purpose for her in this life was to be a mother and she truly lived out that purpose.
Valerie took pride in dedicating her life to taking care of others both in her line of work and outside of work. If you needed anything whether that be an ear to listen, shoulder to cry on, or someone to stand up for you she was there.
Her loss has left us all with heavy hearts but we know someday we will see her again. Her legacy will live on through her children Joshuwa, Prince, Rickey, Tayden, Malaki, Elijah, and Kennedy.
She is preceded in death by her grandma Virginia E. Phillips, and grandparents Elsie and John Staats, and son Daylon Kuhen.
She is survived in death by her mother Ginger Givan, father Kevin Staats, stepmother Karen Staats, husband Melvin, brothers John Givan, Trevor Davis, and Kyle Staats, sisters Alyssa Staats, Sheridan, and Kindyle Jackson, sons Joshuwa, Prince, Rickey, Tayden, Malaki, Elijah, Mykal, and daughter Kennedy.
A memorial will be held Thursday, December 16th at 3:00 pm at Floral Haven.
