Gretta Small
Goodbye, my dear, dear friend. You were my mentor, my rock, the person I always knew would provide me with support, wise counsel and loving friendship. I recall the time when I suffered a serious emotional blow and you rode a bus with a group of barbershop-quartet-singing women from Oklahoma City to a highway crossroads in Nowhere-ville, TX, where I met you at a two-pump gas station with tumble weeds blowing down the dusty road. You had come to hold my hand when I needed it. You rode into life with all flags flying and with enormous courage and heart. I treasured your wisdom, your kindness, and always, your love. My life is infinitely poorer without you in it.
