Vera Sue (Goodnight) HancockVera Sue Hancock was born May 29, 1935 in Mansfield, Arkansas to Vernett and Bertie Alice Goodnight. She was raised in Poteau, Oklahoma where she graduated from Poteau High School in 1952. On November 11, 1954, she married Carl James Hancock in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had two children, Rhonda Sue and David James. Sue passed from this life into her heavenly reward at approximately 5:15 a.m. on February 11, 2019, while she slept. She was 83 years old. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Carl James Hancock, her mother and father, Vernett and Bertie Alice Goodnight, her 9 siblings: Helen, Beatrice, Marlin (Ernest), Harlan, Orion, Lillian, Letha, Marshall (Bill), & Harold (Tude); and her longtime companion, Bill Dobson. She is survived by her children, Rhonda Gray and husband, Curtis of Tulsa, David Hancock and wife, Jeanne of Owasso; granddaughters, Amanda Oakley and husband, Adam of Owasso, Jamie Allen and husband, Chad of Owasso; grandsons, Daniel Hancock, currently of Tucson, Arizona, and Timothy Gray of Tulsa. Great grandchildren: Ashton & Kaden Oakley, and Alyssa, Alexis, and Alayna Allen, all of Owasso. Numerous precious nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of treasured friends. She will be missed by all those who knew her.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13 from 4 pm – 8 pm.Funeral Services will take place at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 15 at Floral Haven Chapel.
