Verda Norine Been's Obituary
Verda Norine Been, 91, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. Verda was born June 12, 1921 in Washington County, Illinois to Gustav and Ada E. Reuss (Mueller). She is survived by a son, Rolland R. Been and wife Jeanne, of Tulsa, a brother, Raymond Reuss and wife Betty of Palatine, IL, a brother-in-law Raymond Been and wife Ruth of Mulvane, KS, a sister-in-law Mary Church and husband Joe of Belleville, IL, a granddaughter, Rhonda Brown and husband Jimmy of New Bern, NC, a step grandson, John Jenkins and wife Sherry of Wichita Falls, TX, a great granddaughter, Christina Bishop of New Bern, NC, a step great grandson, Cody Jenkins and step great granddaughter Emily Jenkins of Wichita Falls, TX and seven nephews and ten nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland E. Been, her parents and sister, Odell Sparling, four brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law. Verdi retired as an accountant from American Airlines. She was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa, and a member and past officer of the local chapter of The American Business Women's Association. A memorial service at Floral Haven Funeral Home is being held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 am. She will be buried in Marissa, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Parkview Baptist Church (5805 S Sheridan Rd Tulsa, OK 74145) or St. Francis Hospice in Tulsa (6600 S Yale Ave, Tulsa, OK 74136).
