In peace rest well.
I knew Verda from First Christian Church in Owasso, OK. We also lived in the same apartment complex. Though she could've been my great-grandma, we were friends and had lots of little adventures over the two years I lived in the north Tulsa area. She had a cheerful heart about giving, especially with the Salvation Army, to our church, and young college students at Ohio State University. She also helped out young friends in need at the church. She might have been very matter-of-fact and sometimes exacting to others, but I knew that under that exterior there was a lady with a heart of gold. She liked to see people do well and it was her goal to see young people get their education and step into the working world on the right foot. She'll be missed by her friends, the Harrells.
Verda was a lady who loved Sunday nights at First Christian Church, was faithful in attendance and inviting others to come. She was also very generous, helping provide food for the community cupboard, financial help to individuals, purchased song books for the church, giving to University of the Ozarks, and Salvation Army. She will be missed by those who knew her.Ben & Sue Killion
May Verda's soul rest in peace.Joe & Ann Hawkins
