Verlene Banks' Obituary
Verlene Banks, born April 10, 1931, in Harriett, Arkansas, to Joseph Harrison Horton and Mae Melissa Horton (Clark), peacefully passed away on December 26, 2024, in Broken Arrow, OK.
Verlene pursued her passion for caring for others by attending Tulsa Junior College and becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She dedicated much of her life to serving patients at St. Francis Hospital, Nursing Center, earning admiration for her compassion and medical expertise.
Known lovingly as the "Best Mother," Verlene cherished her family above all else. She found joy in gardening, studying the Bible, cooking, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A member of the True Life Tabernacle, Verlene embodied kindness and faith, always putting others' needs before her own.
Verlene is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse Erban L. Dampf of Choteau, OK; sons Erban Dale Dampf of Liberty Mounts, OK, and Jerry Wayne Dampf of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter Brandlyn Dampf of Tulsa, OK; and other family; James L. Horton, Lloyd J. Horton, Hazel L. Horton Martin, Victor E. Horton, Harriet B. Horton Sutton, and Evelene Horton Williams.
She is survived by her children, Ronald and June Dampf of Tulsa, OK; Lanny and April Dampf of Broken Arrow, OK; and R. A. Dampf of Tulsa, OK. She also leaves behind grandchildren Justin and Kristy Dampf, Denver and Ischell Loveless, Duane and Kelly Loveless, Bill Loveless, Sarah Dampf, Blake Dampf, Jacob Dampf, Cody Dampf, Diamond Cheyenne Dampf, Ronnie Dawn and Quan Hoang, Jesse and Deidra Dampf, and Jamie Dampf; great-grandchildren Hank Dampf, Clayton Dampf, Hayden Dampf, Jayden Dampf, May Loveless, Megan Loveless, Michael Loveless, Melanie Loveless, Brianna Loveless, Heather Loveless, Ethan Loveless, Ty Uyen Hoang, and Gunnar Hoang; and her brother, A.J. Horton of Phoenix, AZ.
Verlene’s selflessness, love, and dedicated faith touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and devotion that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
