Veronica "Ronnie" Saldeen's Obituary
Veronica Jean Saldeen, lovingly known as Ronnie, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on April 21, 1943, Ronnie lived a life full of love, dedication, and unwavering support for her family and friends.
Ronnie is survived by her children, Todd James Saldeen and Lori Ann Ackley and her husband Eric; her grandchildren, Veronica Jo Wall and her husband Isaac, Christy Marie Pestel-Noland and her husband Jeremy, and Stephanie Nelson; and her great-grandchildren, Hunter Scott Noland, Ember Diane Wall, Colton James Noland, and Liberty Ann Wall. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Catanzaro and his wife Donna, along with a host of other friends and family who will forever miss her.
She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James Rodrick Saldeen; her parents, Paula Elizabeth Bess (Hoyt) Blackmon and Harold Pryor; and her sister, Paulette.
Ronnie was a woman who embodied the spirit of family. She maintained close relationships with her friends and family, always making time for those she loved. Her friendships were lifelong, and she remained in contact with her childhood friends throughout her life. Ronnie was the glue that held her family together, always putting others before herself.
Her professional life was marked by her work with electronics and later as a dedicated caregiver to her husband and individuals with disabilities. Outside of work, Ronnie loved to stay busy, especially enjoying traveling and cruises. She never missed a grandchild’s birthday, attending celebrations even in her final weeks. Ronnie also cherished her family’s weekly card parties, proudly winning the last one she attended.
Ronnie had a special love for Pepsi, Chick-fil-A, and sweets, always ensuring she had something sweet to share with visitors at her home.
Ronnie’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and friends will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
