Veronica Maye Tolbert, 76, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2026.
She was born on April 18, 1949, in Kingsland, Arkansas, to Ellen Tolbert. At a young age, she relocated with her family to Chicago, Illinois, where she attended Hirsch High School and proudly graduated.
Veronica honorably served in the United States Army from April 1982 through December 1988. Prior to her military service, she held several federal positions with the United States government.
She was dedicated to education and personal growth. Veronica graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center, earning a diploma in Ministerial Training. She also earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Oral Roberts University and Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma.
Veronica was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen Tolbert; her brothers, Ernest Johnson and Jerry Johnson; and her sister, Sherry Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her only child, Patricia Blevins, and son-in-law, Alex Blevins; her granddaughters, Latricia Ijato, Ebony Harper, Essence Harper, and La’Retha Harper; her great-grandsons, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, and Zachariah; her brother, Don Johnson; her sister, Audra Lafare; her loving sister-friend, Sally Chaney, and brother-friend, Keith Chaney; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
