I first met Mrs. VanTrease as a parent of Philip when Philip was a student at Key Elementary School. She was the kind of parent teachers love to have for their students. Through the decades since, I came to think of Vesta as a friend. It was always a delight to visit with both she and Dean, mainly at Signature Symphony concerts. It was obvious they were wonderful parents and made incredible contributions to Tulsa.

I first met Vesta tru Tulsa Community College when my Husband, Montie Box, was appointed to the Board of Regents. She was so gracious to me and made me feel so welcome as part of the spouses. We became great friends through the years Montie served on the board. He and Dr. VanTrease had a special bond. We enjoyed many lunches etc with them. Vesta made everyone feel welcome was a lady you wanted to know and perhaps be like. God ushered in a true Angel. Betty Box
My Twin Brother Kris and I were neighbors with Gayle and her Parents as a kids in 1970s. Dean & Vesta been good to us . We never forget this . Thanks for Love & Memories!! 🤟😊❤️

I have many memories of Vesta. One sweet memory would be that every time I came to her home, she loved showing me around and had many wonderful stories to share. Vesta was very generous and usually had a gift to give me; many times it was something she had made. I love also that she was so much a part of Gayle’s life by being involved in the Deaf Community. She will be missed.
There are no words . College, career, church, our paths crossed and her inspiration and guidance was constant. I moved to Wichita and bumped into them (picture) that was just so providencial. The quilt isn't random. A specific pattern to honor my family's heritage. She blessed in so many ways through 50 years of my life. It was an honor and blessing to be able to share so many opportunities with her.
