Vicki Jane Harmon Lavender, of Keota, OK, passed away on June 22, 2019. She was born on June 10, 1955 in Stigler, OK. She was a citizen of the Choctaw Nation. She graduated Stigler High School as co-salutatorian of her class and went on to receive her LPN license. She had a quiet, sweet and gentle spirit. She enjoyed attending church, reading, working puzzles and spending as much time as she could with family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her most beloved job as “Nana” was being a nanny to her grandchildren. She was born a caregiver. She was unselfish and unfailingly kind. Vicki was one of the most giving persons one could ever meet. She always put others before herself, and was loved by all who knew her – even those who knew her for only the briefest moment. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Harmon and Bettye Scantlen Carroll; her infant twin brother, James Bruce Harmon; paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Ellen Harmon and maternal grandparents, Lucian and Ysleta Scantlen who lovingly raised her most of her young life. She is survived by her husband, John Lavender of Keota, her brother, Kenneth Harmon, of Stigler; her daughter, Laurie Armstrong and husband, Gary of Owasso, OK, her daughter, Stacey Randolph, and husband Rocky of Idabel, OK, her son Carson Taylor and wife, Amelia of Safford, AZ and her step-son Patrick Lavender of San Diego, CA.
