Victor Bond's Obituary
VICTOR HERBERT BOND
Victor Bond, a humble, loving, hardworking, and Godly man, has passed from this life into the arms of Heaven. He was a faithful husband to Donna for 63 years, an incredible father, grandfather, and a true man of God. He brought many people into his life and home as if they were family and became their Rock. He selflessly did so much for others without the need for recognition or praise--A Prince among Men!
He was a West Texas cowboy, a Doctor of Industrial Engineering, a father figure to many, and a quiet, steady strength to all.
We will miss you Vic! We are rejoicing that you are reunited with loved ones and with our Heavenly Father.
LIFE
Born in Silverton, raised in South Plains, and graduated high school in Plainview, Victor was a Texan through and through. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas Tech University, where he was an active member in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and an avid Red Raider fan. After meeting and marrying the love of his life in college, the newlywed Vic and Donna moved from Lubbock to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Victor decided to go back to school, and went on to receive his Doctorate of Industrial Engineering at Ohio State University, and became a Professor of Engineering. They had two sons, Brett and Darron. Quite naturally, the family became Buckeye Fans.
Vic began his career as a Quality Control Engineer at Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee. And in 1979, the Bond’s moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Vic worked for several companies before retiring from Delta-T.
Hobbies and Interests
Vic was a competitive fastpitch softball pitcher for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, tooling leather and playing the steel guitar. He also loved hunting and spending time in the woods with his best friend, Bob Cape. He and Donna loved to travel and were very involved in their church where Victor participated in numerous projects and activities that helped their church as well as its members.
FAMILY
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Clayton and Lowell Bond, his Stepmother Bernice, and his 2 sisters Sharon Ann and Jane Adell.
Vic is survived by his loving family: Wife Donna; son Brett and his wife Whitney; son Darron Bond; 6 grandchildren: Josh Bond, Christian Bond and his wife Jessica, Jordan Bond, Blake Bond, Brooklynne Bond and husband Matt, and Katie Bond; 8 great-granddaughters: Grace, Hollie, Hannah, Brinkley, Tesla, Olivia, Remmie and Baylor; stepbrother Weldon Gates and his wife Candice, and his daughters Lori, Linda and Lisa, and a host of relatives and friends.
