Violet M. Finger's Obituary
Violet Meribel Finger, a beloved soul cherished for her wit, resilience, and creativity, departed this world on April 13th, 2024, in Glenpool, Oklahoma, at the age of 96. Born on December 16th, 1927, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Lorenz and Agnes Kindschi, Violet was the last of twelve siblings.
Violet was a remarkable woman known for her beauty, sassiness, and occasional stubbornness, coupled with an unwavering independence and strong personality. Her service in the United States Navy reflected her commitment to duty. As an x-ray technician, she pursued a fulfilling career, showcasing her talents not only professionally but also through her passion for painting and crafts, where she crafted exquisite artwork that captivated many.
A compassionate and selfless individual, Violet's generosity knew no bounds. She exemplified empathy, readily extending a helping hand to anyone in need. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found solace in her devotion to God.
In her leisure time, Violet found joy in the simple pleasures of life, indulging in her favorite soap operas and game shows, notably relishing in the excitement of Wheel of Fortune.
Violet's legacy lives on through her daughters, Teresa Thompson and Tamera Reynolds, her grandchildren, Lauren Frisillo, Travis Watson, Logan Thompson, Jenelle Johnson, and Laney Haws, thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Finger, her parents, and her eleven siblings.
A celebration of Violet's life will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Rose Chapel. Pastor James Lacey will officiate the ceremony, followed by burial at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Veterans Field of Honor Phase II.
In honoring Violet's memory, may we cherish the moments shared, the lessons learned, and the love she bestowed upon us all. She will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of strength, kindness, and grace. Violet's legacy of laughter and love endures, adding another layer of warmth to the memories we hold dear and as she passed to her children and grandchildren, and surely beyond “all because of a chocolate ice cream cone”.
