Virgie L. Barranco's Obituary
Virgie Lee Payne Barranco, a long-time resident of Tulsa, Okla., died December 5, 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer. A homemaker, she was 63. Mrs. Barranco was preceded in death by: her father, John Calvin Payne; her mother, Cecilia Magnini Payne; and her brothers, Billy Payne and David Joe Payne Sr. Mrs. Barranco is survived by: her husband of 43 years, Joseph S. Barranco, Tulsa, Okla.; her daughter and son-in-law, Veronica Barranco Marks and James Marks Jr., Carrollton, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Barranco Ruley and Bradley Ruley, Broken Arrow, Okla.; and her son, J. Dominic Barranco, Denton, Texas. She also is survived by her grandchildren: James Marks III and Andrew Marks, Carrollton, Texas; and Zachary Ruley, Zoe Ruley, and Matthew Ruley, Broken Arrow, Okla. In addition, Mrs. Barranco is survived by: her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Payne Harrell and James Harrell, Vicksburg, Miss.; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Payne Puinno and Nick Puinno, Sandston, Va.; her sister-in-law, Daisy Payne, Pine Bluff, Ark.; her mother-in-law, Ruth Barranco, Tulsa, Okla.; and her adoptedãâ?¬â?¬ family, the Rempes (Fred, Rose, Sarah, Ryan, and Kaitlin), Bixby, Okla. She also is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on December 8, 2006 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on December 9, 2006 at The Church of St. Benedict in Broken Arrow. Burial will take place at Floral Haven Cemetery. Following the funeral services, the family will receive guests at the Floral Haven Family Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s Cancer Research Foundation.
