Virgina Carol Outlaw's Obituary
Carol, 76, at 2:22 September 26th, in Tulsa, left this Earth. She arrived as a little sister to Bobby on the first day of Spring 1947, Virginia Carol Kent, and had a bright future as a member of the Methodist Church. A teacher and a seamstress like her mother before her, "She who dies with the most fabric wins" was a comedic competition between her and her two little sisters. From that kitchen table, a third generation family from Muskogee, Oklahoma, was born.
After graduation and moving to Stillwater, at OSU, she cherished the friendships and reveled in the love story of Carol Ann and Phil Noyes; in retirement, she had chosen sisterships, fierce friendships and hilarious company, most treasured being that of Mrs. Pat Johnson. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Marshawn Montré and Ya'nariee Kaleem Mills-Almahri and grandchildren Gabriel Garcia Schultz, Virginia Carol Mills and her boyfriend Amirah Almahri, Gracie Rose Osteen, and Amelia Birdsong Dunford.
Brother Robert (Bob) E. Kent, Jr. and Sister-in-law Doris, niece Kathy, and her children, Cameron and Madeline. Sister Susan Kay Jones and her and David's children, Carol's niece and nephews Jason and his wife Brandi, Jeffrey and his wife Jennifer, niece Jennifer and her husband Zach, and Jared and his wife, Courteni. Kay's grandchildren Jacob, Brason, Jaxon, Zoe and her husband Michael, Macy, Noah, Max, Cal, Penelope, and Emma. Sister Jane K Holt and Brother-in-law Mark, and their daughter, Carol's youngest niece, Hillary Jane. These fantastic families all share and will continue the legacy of this Kent story.
Carol will be laid to rest at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee. Thank you to Pastor James Lambert from Asbury for your guidance and Christian burial. Carol K. Outlaw is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Eugene Kent and Rosa Virginia, later Virginia Davidson Kent, Nanny, who also left this realm the same first week of Autumn in 2005. And her ex-husband, Michael Emory Outlaw, who died this Summer in Grove, Oklahoma. This, too, shall pass. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love. She will be deeply missed by her daughters and all the students in this classroom of life whose lives she touched.
Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Green Hill Cemetery in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she will be laid to rest.
