Virginia Mae Butler's Obituary
Virginia Mae (Heckerson) Butler was born on April 19,1920 in St. Joseph, Missouri to parents Edla and Andrew Heckerson. She grew up in a loving faith based family with two sisters, Dorothy and Ruth, and two brothers, Charlie and Bill. On September 4, 1937 Virginia married the love of her life, Harlan Leroy Butler and moved to Tulsa, OK. shortly after their marriage. They shared a loving, fun filled marriage until Harlan’s death 51 years later. She was a homemaker who devoted her life and time caring for their home and two daughters, Sharon Dale and Linda Jean. Virginia loved the Lord and was active in her church and United Methodist Women. All who knew her remembered her by her sweet, sweet spirit. She always had a smile and a voice of caring concern for all. Virginia died in her sleep on July 26, 2010 at Methodist Manor where she had lived since 2006. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her two sisters, one brother, and one son, Terry who died at birth. She is survived by brother, Bill Heckerson; daughters Dale and husband Rex Trout and Linda and husband Roy Hendrickson; four granchildren, and seven great granchildren. Virginia will be laid to rest next to her loving husband at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family shares the joy that she is in heaven with her Lord and loved ones where there is no suffering, pain or memory loss which has been her prayer for quite some time. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. The family will recieve friends from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday at Floral Haven Funeral Home. 252-2518
