Virginia Louise Cole's Obituary
Virginia Louise Cole, age 72, of Jenks, Oklahoma passed from this life to her eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on July 1, 1950 to Dalton (Red) and Billie Young. She grew up a member of Winnetka Heights Baptist Church, in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she committed her life to Jesus as her savior. She attended Daniel Webster High school in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1968. After high school, Virginia married Ronnie Taylor. During their years together, they had three children, Jason, Jamie, and Jerod. She worked many years as a stay-at-home mother before going to work at Hurricane Sales in Tulsa. She later found her career in Human Resources as a Benefits Coordinator for the Bama Companies of Tulsa. During her 25 plus years there, she built many lifelong friendships. In 1992 she married Wayne Cole. Together they enjoyed dancing, going to the races, golf, and their two dogs Barkley & Rocky. After her retirement from Bama, Virginia joined the team at Ingredion, in Tulsa, where she developed a second work family. Virginia enjoyed many things in life. She was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane, Oklahoma Sooners, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. She loved shopping and hosting garage sales with her friends on a regular basis. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and especially being GiGi to Abbye, Ainsley, Adlee, Axton, and also Bennett. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Cole, her parents, Red and Billie Young. Two siblings, brother Dalton Young, and Sister Kay Hughes, and a nephew Bruce Madden. She is survived by her children. Son, Jason Taylor and wife, Christy of Webb City, Missouri. Daughter, Jamie McDonald and husband, Jeff of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Son, Jerod Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Four Grandchildren, Abbye Grace, Ainsley Graham, Adlee Gwynn, and Axton Gray Taylor. Sister, Kimberly Zannotti of Tulsa. Several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 10:00 am at Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OK, in the Family Center. Because of the compassionate care and love shown to Virginia and the family, it is requested that donations be made to Porta Caeli hospice house in lieu of flowers.
