Virginia Carol Hinton's Obituary
Virginia Carol Hinton departed her earthly home on March 16, 2023, at the age of 75 years, 7 months, and 200 days. Carol was born on August 28, 1947, to Ed Hall and Louise Schultz Hall of Gosnell Arkansas. Carol is preceded in death by her husband James Hinton, her parents Ed and Louise Hall, and her only sibling Dennis Hall of Lakeland Florida.
She is survived by her son, Brian Hinton (Brook) of Owasso Oklahoma, and her daughter Deanna Williams (Randy) of Justin Texas and six grandchildren; Austen Hinton of Broken Arrow Oklahoma, Tyler Hinton of Owasso Oklahoma, Alex, Brooklyn, Hannah and Kylie Williams all of Justin Texas, one sister-in-law, Johanna Hall of Lakeland Florida, two brothers-in-law and their wives, Waylon Hinton (Donna) of Blytheville Arkansas, Wayford Hinton (Sue) of Tulsa Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.
Carol graduated from Gosnell High School in 1965 and then attended and graduated from Williams Southern Baptist College, Rogers, Arkansas in 1967 with an associate degree in accounting. She met her soulmate, James Hinton on September 5, 1967, and they were United in Holy Matrimony on June 28, 1969. After graduating college Carol was employed by Ark-Mo Power company in Blytheville Arkansas until having her first child. She decided being a stay-at-home mom was more important to her. After the children got a little older, she decided to reenter the work force and was employed by Larry’s Grocery in Blytheville.
In 1990 Carol and James decided to relocate to Oklahoma. After adjusting to their new life in Oklahoma Carol decided to take a job with an insurance agency for a short time. She accepted a job at Oklahoma Central Credit Union and worked there for several years. She then ventured out and decided to enter the world of transportation and started working at Zipp Delivery in Tulsa. She remained at that job until she and James decided it was time to retire and start traveling the US as they had planned; and travel they did coast to coast and border to border.
Carol’s faith in God and her family were the center of her life. She gave of herself without asking for anything in return. Her grandchildren were her most valuable and prized gifts. Her happiest times were when the family would gather at her house for the Holidays, she made the most awesome cornbread dressing, and all would play board games or chicken foot dominos. She loved playing cards with other family members, it was an almost every Saturday night game. She loved watching NCIS on TV while sipping her favorite drink, diet coke and oh how she loved going out to eat at restaurants.
Carol played an important role in her nieces’ and nephews’ lives and loved all of them. Although there were some who thought they were her favorites, truth be known she loved each and every one of them, even those ornery nephews that were always pulling pranks on her. Carol has left behind a great legacy for her family, precious memories and she will be missed by all.
