Obituary for Virginia Lee Hopper A life well livedVirginia Lee Hopper, age 91 passed peacefully from this life into the arm’s of our Lord, Sunday, January 28th, 2018 at Grace Living Center in Tahlequah, OK . She was 91 years of age.Virginia was born, Virginia Lee Fugate on May 29th, 1926 to the parents of Howard and Mabel (Johnson) Fugate in Bristow, OK. She spent her time while growing up going to see the movies on the silver screen and playing with her three sisters. Virginia married the love of her life, Tracey M Hopper on November 28th 1942 in Bristow Oklahoma at the age of sixteen, Together they had two daughters, Dianna and Tresa Hopper. The family mainly made their home in the Tulsa- Broken Arrow area where they together enjoyed remolding and selling homes moving several times in the area.Virginia had several positions of employment. Such as owning a dress shop, a teller at the National Republic Bank in Tulsa, teletype recorder at Bethlehem Oil Field Steel Supply Company and the most enjoyable one being a secretary at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she retired. Besides working outside the home, she was an enthusiastic homemaker and made wonderful peach cobblers. She thoroughly enjoyed many creative hobbies, such as sewing clothes for her family, porcelain doll making, needle point, knitting, water color and oil painting, quilting, jewelry making, growing beautiful flower gardens and last but not least shopping! With her husband, they enjoyed hosting and entertaining their friends playing dominos and sequence every Tuesday afternoon.Family and friends were her passion and delighted in every visit she had with them even on her last day. She always gave a hug and a kiss on the cheek with an “I love you” when the visit was over. Sharing with others and taking care of her family was extremely important to her making trips to Bristow to help her mom and dad, and time in Colorado, Kansas and Wyoming to see her sisters.Virginia attended Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow until moving to Tahlequah in 2010. Later becoming a member at First Baptist Church in Tahlequah. Her strong will to live, faith in God and devotion to the word carried her through health struggles.She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs Howard Fugate and her husband Tracy Hopper and one sister Betty O’dell. Survivors of the home include the Daughters, Dianna (Jarvis) Steinman and husband Butch and her four children, Tracy Jarvis and wife Rhonda, Corbin Jarvis and wife Candy, Natalie Reynolds and husband Bill, Ryan Jarvis and wife Lacee, also nine beautiful great grand daughters and their families. Tresa Antao with partner Nancy Meadows and two children, Peter Antao and wife Donnaya, Barry Antao and wife Chrystal and six beautiful great grand children. Two sisters, Hazel Smith and Patsy Brown and many nieces and nephews.In addition, we would like to thank Brookdale Assisted Living Center and their many blessings, Solutions at Northeastern Health Systems, Grace Living Center in Tahlequah for their loving care of our beloved mother. Virginia service will be held at Floral Haven Chapel at 3pm on Wednesday January 31st, 2018. Friends and family are invited to join us in this celebration of her life.
