Virginia Lea Peterson's Obituary
Virginia Lea Peterson, born on November 7, 1924, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John and Grace (Hysaw) Robinson. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Eugene Peterson, on July 25, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They met at a baseball game, where Kenneth struck out three times, because he couldn’t keep his eyes off of a little red head, named Virginia. They were married almost 67 years. Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beggs, Oklahoma over 40 years. Virginia had 34 years of service with the Fraternal Order of Police with the City of Tulsa, as a switchboard operator. She left behind her doting, loving husband, Kenneth Peterson,; a step-brother, Mike Robinson and a very dear friend and neighbor of almost 41 years, Greta Hall. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, John and Grace (Hysaw) Robinson and a brother, Pat Robinson.A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Beggs, 110 W. 5th, Beggs, Oklahoma. Interment will follow the ceremony, at 3:30 pm, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.Memorial contributions can be made in Virginia’s honor and name to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), 3131 E Pine Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74110
