Ruth was more than just a friend. She was family and every time I came for a visit she had fresh baked cookies for me. She always had such a sweet smile and a kiss on the forehead when I came through the door. She was so full of kindness to everyone she met, strangers included. Ruth was my dads cousin and was also my moms best friend in high school. She set them up on a first date...and mom and her were the closest of friends all their lives. Even though they lived in different cities they traveled together, visited each other and stayed in touch. She made the best chocolate chip cookies too. What a fun, sweet, loving lady she was.
