Swift, Virginia Ellen's Obituary
Virginia Ellen Swift, age 88, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Born on January 11, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Virginia was a beloved business owner and the proud operator of Swift Print, a business she cherished deeply.
Virginia was a powerful, determined, and strong-willed woman who passionately advocated for women’s rights. She made history as the first woman to serve as Governor of the Optimist Club. Her dedication to professional and community organizations was evident through her memberships in the American Business Women’s Association, the Printing Industries of America, the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, the Red Hat Association, and the Central High School Reunion Committee.
Beyond her professional achievements, Virginia was a talented professional belly dancer and a beautiful woman, both inside and out. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering strength will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Virginia’s legacy of determination, advocacy, and beauty will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a community that will forever remember her contributions and the indelible mark she left on their lives.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Swift; son Jerry Swift; parents Thomas Ralph Barger and Ellen (Cline) Barger; siblings Jewel, Geneva, and JoAnn; grandchild Stephanie Lynn Ingram; great grandchild Trey Alan Toler; great granddaughter Lucy Louise Williams; 2 nephews; and 1 niece.
Left to forever cherish Virginias memory is her daughter Connie Williams and her husband Faron; son Steve Swift; grandchildren Jerry Swift II and his wife Tina, Steven Swift II and his wife Christie, Sabrina Swift, Johnathan Williams and his wife Rachel, Farah Williams, Justin Williams and his wife Janie, Jaron Williams and his wife Amanda, Jessica Swift and her fiancée Hayden, bonus grandchild Micah Faye and his wife Alegra; 27 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; great niece April Bruffy; great nephew David Tipp; along with other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24th, 2024 from 4PM – 7PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Anyone wishing to send flowers may do so by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any independent florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Virginia's visitation in a timely manner.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10:00AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Veterans Field of Honor. Pastor Brandon McCombs will be officiating.
