Virginia Irene Taylor's Obituary
Virginia Irene Taylor, “Ginger”, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, born July 15,1935, passed away October 18, 2017, on what would have been her 65th Wedding Anniversary to Rex Taylor. Rex preceded her in death July 26, 2017. Virginia and Rex married October 18, 1952. They had two daughters; Cathey Taylor, and Deborah Taylor-Crabtree. Ginger worked for McDonnell-Douglas, where she was part of the creation of the first Super Computer. Afterwards she and Rex became sole proprietors of Taylor Precision Manufacturing, where they built the door and dashboard of the first space shuttle,Columbia 81. They would later advance their company to the B2 fighter and Stealth project; eventually becoming the B2 Stealth industrial base team of the Midwest. Ginger was a kind, generous and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a great cook and a friend to many; dearly loved by all. She had a gentle and benevolent soul and always did her best to support everyone. She leaves behind a sister; Arlene Phillips; two daughters , Cathey and Deborah; two grandsons, Jeffrey (Jeanne) and Benjamin (Chisato); two great-grandchildren, Hayden Rex Pingrey and Iris Crabtree.Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Funeral Service Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
