Virginia Marie Taylor's Obituary
Virginia Marie Taylor, known affectionately as Marie, peacefully passed away on May 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1932, in Jenks, Oklahoma, to the late Carl and Eula Dobbs. Marie's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, selfless dedication, and love for her family.
Marie completed her high school education and later pursued her studies at IMBSBC Bible School. It was during this time that she developed a deep-rooted devotion to her Christian faith. Guided by her belief in God, Marie embarked on a remarkable journey of missionary work that would touch countless lives around the world. Throughout her life, Marie undertook numerous missionary trips, venturing across 48 of the 50 states and exploring four different countries. Her tireless efforts to spread the message of faith and hope brought comfort and solace to those in need. Marie often reflected on two pivotal moments that shaped her life: her salvation at the tender age of 13, which forever changed her perspective, and her acceptance into international missionary work, a calling she embraced wholeheartedly.
While Marie dedicated herself to her mission, she also cherished the moments spent with her beloved family. Vacations were a time of joy and togetherness, and she particularly treasured camping trips. Among her fondest memories was a journey to the breathtaking Colorado Mountains, where she marveled at the beauty of nature and created lasting memories with her loved ones. Marie's caring nature extended beyond her missionary work and family life. She selflessly volunteered as a camp cook and counselor, making a positive impact on the lives of countless young individuals. Her warm smile, kind words, and delicious meals nourished both body and soul.
However, Marie believed that her greatest legacy was her family. She shared an enduring marriage of 66 years with her loving husband, John Taylor, whose unwavering support and companionship enriched her life. Together, they built a strong foundation of love and devotion that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Marie's nurturing spirit extended to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She took immense pride in their accomplishments, celebrated their milestones, and provided unwavering support and guidance. She also cherished her siblings and extended family members, who shared in her love and shared experiences that bound them together.
Virginia Marie Taylor will be fondly remembered as a woman of faith, a dedicated missionary, a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her unwavering commitment to her faith, her family, and her mission will continue to inspire and guide those whose lives she touched.
While her physical presence may be missed, Marie's love and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her legacy of love and devotion lives on in the lives of those she loved so deeply.
