As a very small boy, maybe four-years-old, I remember staying with my Great-Grandma and Grandpa Valade's home watching Inspector Gadget cartoons on the floor in the livingroom. I remember decorative plates along the walls in the kitchen and a horse in the yard that I would pet before Grandma would take us to church to watch Grandpa sing with the choir. I am not even sure how accurate these events are, being so young, but this is what I remember. Our last meeting at Aunt Connie and Uncle Al's house, I was excited my wife Jennifer would have a chance to meet my Great-Grandparents. I remember how impressive it was that they drove by themselves from Oklahoma to Michigan. Like mentioned, my Grandma spoke about being a female who could not only sell a home but could build one too! She was both very sweet yet feisty. Our last conversation was about three years ago and she wanted to know about her newest Great-Great Grandson, Carter, who she met in a picture we sent. She spoke about how important it was to go to church and to read our bibles, for which she gave me and I'm sure to many others too.As I remember my Grandma, I will know that she is now with the Lord who she loves so much along with her family including my Grandma Charmaine and Great-Grandpa Bill. We all love you Grandma. -Jay S. Edwards (Son of John "Steve" ) Grosse Ile, MI
