Vuong Duc Doan's Obituary
Mr. Đoàn Đức Vượng was born on December 8th, 1929, in Nam Đinh, Vietnam. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Đoàn Quang Hanh and Nguyễn Thị Nhung. He had one older sister, two younger brothers, and one younger sister. In 1948, he married Mrs. Đặng Thị Hồng and they had seven children together, two sons and five daughters. He had a passion for literature, music, and hobbies such as reading books, drinking tea, and appreciating nature...
He graduated from Bưởi School, now Chu Văn An School, and worked as an interpreter for the French before 1954. Upon migrating to Saigon, he joined the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces and worked in the Military Engineering Department.
After the events of 1975, he journeyed alone to Phước Lộc commune, Đồng Nai province, in search of ways for his children to cross the border. In 1985, his beloved wife fell seriously ill and passed away in Saigon. Three years later, he remarried Mrs. Phan Thị Liên, and together they immigrated to the United States to reunite with their children in 1994.
Since August of this year, he had been admitted to the hospital multiple times and ultimately spent his last days at the Forest Hills nursing home. God called him at 9 a.m. on December 29th, 2023, peacefully in his sleep during the Christmas season. He leaves behind an endless sorrow in the hearts of his extended family, including a loving wife, children, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. The entire family will always remember him as a caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who always cherished and cared for his descendants, living generously and compassionately towards everyone."
A prayer service will be held 7:00PM - 9:00PM, Thursday, January 4, 2023 in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM at Floral Haven Visitation Suites, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
A Rosary will be held 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
A funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Vietnamese Catholic Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
