Wallace LeeVere Johnson's Obituary
Wallace LeeVere Johnson was born on November 22, 1928 and went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2019. Wallace married the love of his life Joan Turnbow on May 7, 1948 and they shared 71 wonderful years together.
Wallace is survived by three daughters, Brenda Douglas of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rita McMillan and her husband Jimmie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Gail Selvidge and her husband Jeff of Mounds, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Paige Daniel and her husband Scott, Brian Douglas and his wife Aimee, Brandon Douglas and his wife Lindsey, Nathan Selvidge and his wife Katie, Meagan Bogan and her husband Bud and Camden Selvidge and his wife Courtney; eight great-grandchildren, Isla, Jake, Spencer, Fisher, Alex, Hadley, Opal, and Johnnie Kay; and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and two brothers; a son, Glenn Johnson; and a son-in-law Bill Douglas.
Wallace was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Drumright High School and received a football scholarship to Coffeyville Jr College. He spent 40 years working for Reynolds French Casting and Repair Company and retired as Vice President.
He loved being involved in his kids and grandkids activities. He enjoyed playing golf, fly fishing, working his crossword puzzles, playing bridge, watching football and basketball, and playing any kind of game especially Spades. Many nights were spent in Spades tournaments with friends and family. He cherished the summer family vacations and looked forward to his time in Creede CO. He was a great story teller and he delighted in playing pranks on his friends and family. He had a great smile and a deep belly laugh.
Wallace loved to read, especially his Bible. He also enjoyed their monthly Bunco group and the fellowship he shared at church as a member of Bixby First United Methodist Church.
Wallace was a devoted husband and father. He will be missed every day until we meet again.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be sent to A-Vow Hospice who took such good care of his wife Joan.
