Walsie Leah Fitzgerald of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Born on August 9, 1936, in Prue, Oklahoma, Walsie lived a life full of love, creativity, and devotion to her family and faith.
Walsie was known for her boundless energy and vibrant personality. She never met a stranger and could light up any room with her talkative charm. A gifted artist, she found joy in creating beautiful oil paintings that reflected her passion and imagination. She also had a talent for sewing, lovingly crafting clothes for her children—and even their dolls—with care and creativity.
As a devoted mother, Walsie was always deeply involved in her children’s lives, especially through Cub Scouts and other activities. Her nurturing spirit and active presence made her a beloved figure in her community and church, where she played a vital role alongside her husband, a dedicated minister.
Walsie is survived by her children: Shawn Fitzgerald; Mike Fitzgerald and wife Glenda; grandchildren: Collin Fitzgerald and wife Jaimi; Lauren Harrison and husband Ethan; Brent Fitzgerald, and wife Ashton; Stuart Fitzgerald and wife Dedre; and Kaylie Tollett, and husband James; great-grandchildren: Jake Fitzgerald; Hannah Fitzgerald; Elliott Harrison; Liam Harrison; Oliver Fitzgerald; Baker Fitzgerald; siblings: C.H. Lay and wife Patty; and Joan Stinchcomb; as well as a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Bob Fitzgerald, her sisters Edith Jolliff, Donna Mitchel, Betty Lou, and her brother-in-law Bob, and sons Colin and Kelly.
Walsie’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the art she created, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
