Wanda Catherine Cole, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at 87 years of age.May she be lifted up to be with the angels and her husband once more, Kenneth Edward Cole, who passed May 12, 1993, (26 years ago), and she will be alongside Ken at Floral Haven Cemetery.Her birthdate was May 29, 1932; born in Stigler, Oklahoma.Her Mother was Opal Maxine Dixon of Stigler, Ok. Born December 12, 1905 in Sullivan, Mo. Opal was the daughter of Belle Greenleaf Dixon and Albert James Dixon. She was the eldest of 7 children followed by Courtney, Elzie, Morrison, May, Ruby & Willard.Wanda’s father was Carl Hale of Kinta, Oklahoma.Wanda met her future husband, Jack Lloyd Barker at the Poncan Theater in Ponca City, Ok. where she worked in the ticket booth, and Jack was an usher. They were married on July 3, 1952 in First Baptist Church, Ponca City, Ok. They were divorced in March of 1960.Together they had 3 children who Wanda is survived by: Jacque Lynn Barker/Shelton of Houston, Tx.; Michael Kevin Barker of Jacksonville, Fl., and Linda Kay Barker/Uzdevenes of Tulsa, Ok.Wanda worked in insurance for appx. 18 years with different companies, 1 of them being Globe Life Ins. In OKC, Ok. when she met her future husband, Kenneth Edward Cole. Wanda loved to decorate, travel, put together beautiful picture albums of her family, go to OU games with Ken, and she also loved to cook.Wanda was married to Kenneth Edward Cole, (God rest his soul), on July 3, 1970 in Temple Terrace, Fl. They were married in a private ceremony at the home of Merle and Rose Isebrand. Ken was transferred to Jacksonville, Fl. In 1970. They were then transferred to Independence, Mo. In July 1974; St. Paul Mn. In July 1976, and transferred to Tulsa, Ok in July 1978 where she stayed until her recent passing.She is survived by her grandchildren: Michael Winter of Jacksonville, Fl.; Cortni Shelton of Houston, Tx.; Tiffini Matthews/Berman of Tulsa, Ok.; Tamara Catherine Shelton of Houston, Tx.; Libby Barker/Reincheld of Jacksonville, Fl.; Brandon Barker of Jacksonville, Fl. and Lance Matthews of Minnesota.She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Tristen Shelton of Dallas, Tx.; Payton Sills and Conner Sills of New Hampshire; Heather Kitchen of Houston, Tx.; Kimberly Kitchen of Grapevine, Tx.; Alison Winter and George Winter of Jacksonville, Fl., Dalton, Abella and Saxon Berman of Tulsa, Ok., Jacob, Joshua and Emily Reincheld of Jacksonville, Fl.She is also survived by her great-great grandchildren: Lydia Winter of Jacksonville, Fl. And Hudson Winter of Jacksonville, Fl. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 3 pm on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
