Wanda Leah Dotson Clark's Obituary
Wanda Leah Dotson Clark was born in Pryor, Oklahoma on July 24, 1938, to Wesley and Opal (Jetton) Dotson. She died peacefully April 20, 2010 at her home. She married Troy Clark on August 10, 1955. They had one child Ronald Wayne Clark. The stars in her life were her two grandsons, Trey Denver Clark and Theisen Nathaniel Clark. Wanda graduated from Pryor High School in 1955 and Northeastern State University in 1960 with a degree in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career in Alluwee, Oklahoma, where she taught for two years. After moving to Tulsa, she taught in Tulsa Public Schools for 32 years, receiving numerous awards during her tenure. Wanda was a member of TCTA and lifetime member of OEA and NEA, proudly working for betterment of education. She was baptized in the Baptist Church, along with her husband and son and had a strong tie with the Pryor First Church of the Nazarene. Wanda’s sense of humor was evident in everything she did, with practical jokes being her favorite pastime. Her compassion and concern for others made her loved by all who knew her. She looked for ways to give to people she loved, as well as complete strangers. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all the people who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jerry Dotson and nephew, Wade Dotson. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM -9:00 PM on Thursday, April 22, 2010.Funeral Services will be held 12:30 PM Friday, April 23, 2010 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Stan Meek officiating.Survived By: Troy, her beloved husband and best friend; her son, Ron and wife, Cyndy of Vera, OK; her beloved grandsons, Trey Clark and wife, Danielle of Tahlequah, OK and Theisen Clark of Vera; two sisters, Glenda Fouquier and husband, Homer of Harvey, LA and Jan Chambers and husband, Bob of Pryor, OK.
