Wanda Mae Norwood's Obituary
Wanda Mae Norwood, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; born Tuesday, April 22, 1921 in Schaberg, Arkansas to her loving parents Wesley & Kathryn “Katie” (Lane) Robison; went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Owasso, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side. Originally from Arkansas, Wanda has been a resident of the Tulsa area for many years. Wanda met the love of her life in her home state of Arkansas following the Second World War and on Thursday, March 13, 1941 in Fayetteville, Arkansas they began their lives together as husband and wife. Eventually relocating to Tulsa in 1953, building a wonderful life together here and raising their loving family together. In 2006 when her loving husband was called home Wanda stayed active, tending to their beautiful fruit and vegetable garden in their backyard of their home in Bixby. She enjoyed many things in her free time especially playing bunco, her bowling league, sewing, collecting Barbie dolls and of course watching “I Love Lucy” and her beloved Cardinals play with a big bowl of ice cream to keep her company. What she was truly passionate about was her family that she loved so dearly and sharing memories and moments with them that will live on in their hearts and minds for generations to come. Fond memories will always be cherished of Wanda, especially her baking from scratch including her fried apple pie which is regarded as the best, how she always enjoyed receiving mail and how she always saved the cereal box tops for the prizes for her and her family. She will be deeply missed by all those who had their lives touched by her. Wanda is preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-five years, Elmer “Mack” Norwood; her dearly loved daughters-in-law, Lora Norwood & Candy Norwood; her two precious granddaughters, Christina Hall and Christina Norwood; her loving parents, Wesley & Kathryn “Katie” (Lane) Robison and her dear sister, LaVerna Yerton. Wanda is survived by her six loving children, J. Mack Norwood, Charlotte Ann Hall & husband Bart Lynn, Linda Norwood, Eugene Norwood, Wanda Arlene Hicks & husband Steve and Leroy Robison; her ten dearly loved grandchildren, Jimmy Dean & wife Kirston, Stephanie Franklin, Ted Henry & wife Carmin, Steve Norwood & wife Debbie, Brian Norwood, Candy Nicole Rozenskey, Tonya Hall, Chris Hall, Autumn Dorney and Tammy Robinson; her sixteen precious great grandchildren, Katie Dean, Kourtney Dean, Ashley Franklin, Alisha Franklin, Austin Franklin, Alijah Franklin, Aleeyah Franklin, Dylan Henry, Nick Norwood, Kyleigh Norwood, Shelby Norwood, Kelsey Rozenskey, Brittney Rozenskey, Amanda Robison , Gavin Dorney, Sean Dorney and numerous other loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 3:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel. A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Veterans Field of Honor Phase Three.
