Wanda Gail Peace's Obituary
Wanda Gail Peace, 82, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on December 13, 2016. Wanda was born June 25, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of R.K. and Ella Miller. After moving to California in the “Dirty Thirties” Wanda and her parents, older sister Jo and younger sister, Beverly, moved back to Oklahoma living in Bethany and then permanently residing in Guthrie. Wanda attended Guthrie High School. She loved school, people and The Lord. She was Homecoming Queen, a member of the R.O.T.C., a majorette, cheerleader, played the accordion and sang beautifully in choral. There, at Guthrie High School, she met and fell in love with her “Handsome Hunk”. Myron Henry Peace. They married May 23, 1953. She worked to put Myron through college at Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, after which daughter, Cindy was born in 1959, followed by her second daughter, Lori in 1960. After moving to Nebraska for a few years, Myron accepted a job in Tulsa with ORU, managing Aerobics Building and Golf Coach. Back home in Oklahoma son, Chad was born in 1971. The family was complete. Wanda was a member of several of ORU’s Womens Groups, including a lifelong bridge group of her best friends. Wanda loved her family and made them her life’s achievement and highest priority. Myron retired from Williams Company as Wellness Manager in 1996 and Wanda & Myron continued to “make memories” until his death on October 13, 2013. Wanda was also preceded in death by Grandson, Hunter Jackson in 2005, parents, sister and many dear family members. Survived by daughter, Cindy and husband, Rick Jackson; daughter, Lori and husband, Richard Watson; son, Chad and wife, Laura Peace: grandchildren, Kellen and wife, Desteni Watson, Brian and wife, Erin Watson, Aaron Jackson, Ellie and husband, Justin Ervin, Reilly Peace and Evan Peace. Great Grandkids as of date-Brandon, Wyatt, Carter and Nash Watson and Hinson Ervin. “However time or circumstance may come between a mother and child, their lives are interwoven forever” ~ Pam Brown And happily our lives will always be interwoven with yours, precious Momma. Family will receive friends, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, December 16, 2016 for Visitation at the Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm, December 17, 2016, Floral Haven Rose Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with reception to follow. God Bless.
