Warren R. Grove's Obituary
Warren passed way Wednesday, July 27, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, pauline, of the home; a daughter, Marsha Owen of Tulsa, and a son, Roger Grove and wife, Anita of Eddomd, OK. Other survivors include two grandsons, Stephen Owen of Tulsa and wife, Melissa and Harrison Grove of Norman, OK; a granddaughter, Taylor Grove of Houston, TX and two great-grandsons, Michael and Matthew Owen. Surving siblings include F. Christine Bachman of Owasso; David Grove of Katy, TX, and Jean Douglass and husband, Doug of Tulsa. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. He was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country as a Combat Battalion Engineer and U.S. Army Master Sergeant. Warren was a true patriot and lived his life according to many of the disciplines he learned during his tenure in the Army from 1942-1945. He was a graduate of Central High School in Tulsa and was a 42 year employee of Empire Foundry Company, Tulsa, serving as a highly skilled patternmaker and, in the last of his working years, as the Manager of Customer Service. All the work he completed was always of the highest quality and he consistently maintained outstanding working relationships with his customers and peers. He was an active member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Tulsa and he and Pauline served for many years in various church roles and are so grateful to, and blessed by,the many members of their church family. He was a Meals on Wheels volunteer during much of his retirement and always talked about how blessed he was in life despite his many, many physical challenges of his recent years. God, family, home, and country were of the utmost importance to him and he enjoyed his role as patriarch of his family. The family wishes to thank his many medical professionals who cared so diligently for him duing his illness including the entire Dialysis team at St. Francis Hospital.
