Wayne Francis Conway's Obituary
Wayne Francis Conway, 66, left this world from a mountaintop in Angel Fire, New Mexico on Saturday, February 22, 2020. He was born on December 8, 1953 to Vivian Joanne (McCarty) and William F. Conway. He was educated thru the Tulsa Public School system, graduating from Edison High School with the Class of 72. While in high school, he was involved in various activities, played football and earned a music scholarship to the University of Arkansas as a cellist.
Wayne was an Arkansas Razorback fan, football season ticket holder for over 35 years with his brother Mark. They also enjoyed week long float trips down the Buffalo River. Wayne was very interested in the space program, but more realistically he loved piloting small airplanes. He was a marathon runner, and an accomplished cellist. He also really liked attending rock concerts with his son Christopher.
Wayne was President of Capital X-Ray services, and during the four decades he worked in the NDT industry he earned numerous awards and certifications. In 1986 he was honored as Technician of the Year.
Surviving Wayne are his wife Jan (Rodden) and son Christopher, sister Missy and husband Bob Massey, sister-in-law Ardie Wise and brother-in-law Kirk and wife Angela Rodden, one uncle Alan Conway and wife Delores, 5 nieces; Amanda Shaw, Kristen Williams, Sarah Rodden, Becca Butler and Anna Massey, 2 nephews; godson Timothy Massey and Evan Rodden, one great niece and two great nephews.
Preceeding Wayne in passing from this life were his parents, his brother Mark, his brother-in-law Dale Rodden and the 2 best dogs ever Rusty (Brown Dog) and Ozzie Conway.
