Wayne Irvin Holeman's Obituary
Wayne Irvin Holeman, a devoted public servant and meticulous craftsman of life, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 95.
Born on June 30, 1930, in Drumright, Oklahoma, Wayne was the son of Jimmie Levi and Retha Rose (Hague) Holeman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, demonstrating the same courage and commitment that would define his decades-long career with the Tulsa Fire Department. Rising through the ranks over 32 years, Wayne retired as District Chief, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the safety of his community.
Wayne’s passion for automobiles was more than a hobby—it was an art form. He delighted in buying, detailing, and selling cars, often cycling through them in just a few months. His keen eye for detail extended far beyond the garage. Whether it was rearranging furniture or removing wall hangings to ensure every surface was spotless, Wayne approached every task with precision and pride.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Holeman; his parents, Jimmie and Retha Holeman; his brother, Carol Eugene Holeman; sister-in-law, Lillian Holeman; and niece, Shorina Holeman.
Wayne is survived by his niece, Sue Collins, and her husband, Terry; and his brother-in-law, David Youngblood, and his wife, Pat. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew his quiet strength, his sharp wit, and his tireless devotion to the things—and people—he loved.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Wayne’s life will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 6, 2025, in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
Wayne Holeman’s life was a testament to service, precision, and care. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
